Nutritious Peanut Soup

Peanuts are a rich source of protein. Its nutritional value is equivalent to meat and egg protein for human growth and health. I like to use it for making soup.

Ingredients:

*70 gms raw Shandong peanuts without skin.

*70 gms raw peanuts with skin
*200g of pork ribs
*800ml of water
*salt to taste

Methods:

1. Bring water to boil in a pot. Then pour it to the slow cooker.
2. Put in pork ribs and both type of peanuts. Cook it under automatic mode.
3. Let it simmer for at least 5 hours. Add salt to taste before serving.

You can see that Shandong peanuts are larger than the common peanuts. Both are available in Tesco Hypermarket.

Than Hsiang Vegetarian Food

Here I would like to recomment you the vegetarian food selling at Than Hsiang Vegetarian Canteen. The canteeen is located at the ground floor of Wisma Than Hsiang. A vegetarian rice set is just cost for RM4. It’s a self service meal that you can pick from all the available dishes. The RM4 will eventually go towards Wan Ching Yuen Old Folks Home, which is located on the upper floor of the Wisma Than Hsiang. You can eat and making donation at the same time. To kill two birds with one stone, very meaningful indeed. You can also “ta pao” (take away) the rice set. The packaging material used is the biodegradable material, which is different from polyfoam.

The food here is tasty as well, see the following photos from what we used to “ta pao”.

Meow Meow’s Sweet Dreams

See meow meow is sleeping on my car…I love its naive and innocent facial expression, so I faster grabbed my camera and snapped a photo. No wonder, most of the time, meow meow’s foot prints can be easily found on my car. Sigh…too much…Meow!

Bomberman!

After being stop a while playing the Sony PSP, currently I’m hooked to PSP again! I’m addicted to Bomberman. Yes, the good old game since the Nintendo game boy time. Bomberman for the game boy is very dull, in terms of back ground and colour range. And it’s still in 2-D. See…

Now with Sony PSP, the game has been improved with sharp and colourful graphics. Yes, it’s now in 3-D, and the back ground looks attractive. I enjoy running through mazes, blowing up boxes to clear paths, and bombing baddies to my heart’s content. Hard to believe that I’m still interested in this childish game.

My goal is to blow the boxes, to get the additional power, to kill all the enemies, and find my hidden exit to the next round, and bonus stage and the boss stage.

I wish I can be the bomberman in the actual world. Enhancing myself with additional power to kill all my enemies, in order to get smoother path, hehehe…Sounds cruel?

Golden BBQ Steamboat Restaurant

This is actually a back dated post. Jack and I re-visited Golden BBQ Steamboat Restaurant somewhere in Nov, 2007. It’s a good place to visit when you are craving for food. It offers buffet style steamboat and BBQ. Eat all you can, just don’t waste the food.

The restaurant owner combines 3 historical houses to become a restaurant.

They prepare some ready food for those who are really hungry ;P

These are the ingredients for the steamboat and BBQ.

They also prepare a pot of braised chicken feet. Besides, a pot of “char ye dan” (tea egg) is also available.

Here are some assorted fish balls, and crab sticks.

Some processed pig’s skin, abalone mushrooms, quail’s eggs and hot dogs.

Some green fresh vegetables…

Prawns, cuttle fish and marinated squids for BBQ.

Sour and spicy sauce definitely is a must.

Our first round of steamboat is ready! We had our second, and third round, plus the BBQ.

Black Dates & Longan Tea

Black dates and longan tea is a nourishing drink with natural sweetness. When both of the ingredients combined, it’s effective in fighting against anemia and fatigue, and boosting energy levels. Or in other words, they are good in building blood and regenerating Qi.

Black date is rich in iron. It has a pleasant taste and high nutritional value, and is often used to disguise unpalatable prescriptions. It is recognized as valuable medicinal herb.

Dried longan helps to improve blood circulation, improve heart efficiency and reduce stress and tension.

Ingredients:
12 red dates, washed and pitted
10 dried longans, washed
5 cups of water

Method:

1. Boil and simmer ingredients in 5 cups of water for 45 minutes until the liquid is fragrant and tasty.
2. Serve warm.

Tonki is located in Pulau Tikus, near to Belissa Row. The place mainly serves set lunch and dinner with reasonable prices, which comes with free flow of Miso soup and green tea.

Tempura (Mariawase) set cost for RM9.80. It’s including rice, Miso soup, cabbage salad, and 2 slices of orange as dessert.

Tonkatsu (pork cutlets) cost for RM7.80 per set. Rice, Miso soup, cabbage salad, and dessert are included.
