My daily activities with my two brains

Most of us do not know that we have 2 brains, left cortex and right cortex. Left cortex deals with logic, words, lists, numbers, linearity, analysis, etc. While the left cortex is engaged with these activities, the right cortex is more in the relaxing state. The right cortex deals with dimension, colour, day-dreaming, imagination, Gestalt, rhythm, and spatial awareness.

During my working hours, most of the time I have my left cortex working extensively. I do a lot of analysis through data interpretation in statistical tools. At the same time, my right cortex is working to assist in the colour selection and dimension adjustment when I have my chart plotted.

After working hours, back to home, I will adjust myself to relaxing mode. I will spend my time on cooking, house keeping, planting, playing game boy or PSP, watching TV. While doing these activities, analytic seldom come across my mind. However, I still have my left brain to assist in process sequence and to memorize the list of required ingredients or tools.

One of my interested hobby is playing PSP, and my all time favourite is Lumines. This addictive block game required concentration in colours and shapes, with left hand to control the location to place the block, and right hand to control the speed. This will make my right cortex working.

Change Our Vision

There was a millionaire who has bothered by severe eye pain. He consulted so many physicians and was getting his treatment done. He did not stop consulting galaxy of medical experts, he consumed heavy loads of drugs and underwent hundreds of injections. But ache persisted with great vigour than before. At last, a monk who was supposed to be an expert in treating such patients was called for by the millionaire. The monk understand his problem and said that for sometime he should concentrate only on green colors. The millionaire got together a group of painters and purchased barrels of green colour and directed that every object his eyes was likely to fall to be painted in green colour just as the monk has directed. When the monk came to visit him after few days, the millionaire’s ran with buckets of green paints and pour on him since he was on red dress, lest their master not see any other colour and his eye ache would come back. Hearing the monk laughed said “If only you had purchased a pair of green spectacles, worth just a few dollar, you could have saved these walls and trees and pots and all other articles and also could have saved a large share of your fortune.
You cannot paint the world green. Let us change our vision and the world will appear accordingly. It is foolish to shape the world, let us shape ourselves first.

Lunar New Year Dessert

Most of Malaysian Chinese enjoy their home cooked dessert, called “bubur cacar” on the last day of Chinese new year. This sweet and “lemak” dessert is cooked in coconut milk, with various kinds of ingredients. Everybody can have their own style, with banana, mango, or cashew nuts added in.


My mom’s home cooked “bubur cacar”. She uses the most basic ingredients consist of yam, sweet potatoes, sagu, and pink jelly made from tapioca flour.

Cute & Naughty Rabbits

It’s playtime again for the three rabbits. Their size is almost the size of a cat (not kitten!). No wonder, they will just hang around outside their keeper’s compound fearlessly. See, I can take their photos even up close.

The “Greyish” and “Brownish”.

This “Blackish” is the most lazy one. Just lying there, even I approached it. My grandma in law told me that it loves to visit my in-laws’ house, and hide behind the washing machine. Hmm…funny!

“Greyish” and “Brownish” are close to each other. They always play together.
